friday 24th sept
beautiful shine shine bags from south africa, now in the store.
please join Ulrika and I on friday 24th sept between 4-7 for a drink... fresh pressed apple juice (apples from my garden) with ginger or some wine.
a small thank you for all my friends and customers for their support these last 3 years.
i am proud to annouce, that after 3 years of starting up and running goodness, i have sold on to a dear friend Ulrika, who will continue in the goodness spirit, by adding an important aspect and that will be her talent in haircutting and styling, but also her ecological thinking behind the ingredients that go into the hair dyes that she uses.
she has had 10 years experience in stockholm working in the film and tv business and has owned her own salon in Viken called Ylang Ylang.
i have been a customer of hers for over 3 years and can absolutely recommend her. she will take over on oct 1st, so please pop in and welcome her to town and get a juicy smoothy.
wish you all the best Ulrika!
delicious raw chocolate
raw chocolate, direct from my home town!
become more conscious after one of these bars! they are truly delicious and healthy...all you need is a small bite to fulfill that sweet urge... but not according to francesca.
enjoy the four flavours here at goodness....love potion with rose, goji and coconut, mint with himalayan salt, orange...
it is with such relief that i write these words today, just the site of these mixed greens sprouting up in their newspaper pots, is enough for me to recognise that spring is on its way to sweden.
these greens are a combination of rucola, cress, chicory, red and white kale and chevril.
we now have a seeds at goodness so you can grow your own organic seeds in a pot to put on the windowsill or to plant directly in the ground.
heres to homegrown!
goodness sponsers the clothes library in the culture house in stockholm, starting this saturday feb 20th, they will test the idea of loaning clothes instead of buying them.
this is one of the scarves that was made to support this affair, made from the many t-shirts that are contributed to goodness. each square has a story and a name.
you are welcome to goodness, for a selection of scarves and hats.
what a great idea these girls have come up with, i will keep you posted on how it goes.
bye for now
100% pure pomegranate powder!exotic and fruity.
richly potent and full of antioxidants a,c and betacarotene. pomegranate has been used for its flavour and medicinal values for 1000 years. aids digestion and as a powerful antioxidant it aids heart disease and contains properties to counter not only cholestrol but also aging.
1tsp pomegranate powder 1 tsp hemp powder, ginger (amount according to you), raspberries, bluberries (preferably organic) and yoghurt or appeljuice.
re-using old plates
my dear sister kasia paints plates...when i was visiting her in france last year we talked about how i could incorporate her work into goodness.
she normally paints new plates and i wanted to have some plates that were re-used. so we decided to go hunting for some second hand french plates and she started drawing on them.
with her inspiration from nature, folklore and graphic repetition she draws such wonderful patterns..here are just a few of them that i have hanging in the shop..they can also be used, or to add to some artwork on your wall...bring back the art of plate hanging!
we have many others in the shop!
candles with a long life
there is an art to making your candles last longer, well if there isnt now there is.
this eco soya wax candle in this 2nd hand tea cup, has lasted in the shop from last friday to yesterday (saturday)glowing beautifully with a scent of lemongrass. so, basically it has burned for roughly 20 hours.
i believe the reason that it lasted a long time was not only that it is soy wax and burns longer, but the fact that each time it was lit, i snipped the wick to make it shorter and then whilst it was burning, made sure that the wick was in the middle of the cup (by gently coaxing it back to the middle)
soy wax candles (only certified soy) are not made from petroleum, like paraffin candles. they can last up to 50% longer than paraffin candles.
lighting a candle during the day during these winter months is up lifting.
bye for now
this is sachem alias moss boy!
you know i am not one who enjoys halloween or getting dressed up, but when this was sent to me i found myself thinking what fun sachem had dressing up and playing another role of being moss...beautiful boy!
just to add to this posting, i saw the micheal jackson film "this is it" last night with asta and we had such a great time. he was part of my up bringing and to listen to the songs he sung and danced to was a flashback. and each song had meaning. we were sitting in our seats just dancing together!
cheerio for now
gift given to me on my 50th birthday by my husbands(emerzon)eldest daughter saga...who has just graduated from college and will be traveling to india for some work and play! really talented girlie!
love you and thank you
i really enjoy this time of year, there is a slight cosiness in the air. another layer is needed to be worn and the leaves start changing into a glorious array of greens and yellows. and then i recieve a picture like this one, which brought a smile that reminded me of the warmer days...
